This summer, I had the pleasure of joining the Design team for Facebook News. I’m so excited by all the areas of the product I was able to touch and see it come to life. Facebook News is set to launch in October 2019, so I had the unique experience of being part of the team as they were working on a 0-1 product and sprinting towards launch.
Subscriber Experience: Providing value for both people and publishers on Facebook News.
I worked with different teams across Facebook to unify the existing paid subscription features for publishers with what’s to come on Facebook News. Although we had a ton of ideas of ways we could approach the problem at hand, I had to strategize with our team to break down the feature ideas into different iterations for our public launch and beyond.
Most problems are more complicated than they appear.

User Controls: Giving people control on what they see in their News experience.
Through research, we heard again and again that users want to feel in control of their News experience. Our findings showed us how important it is to be transparent in the power users have. Within user controls, I worked with our engineering team on two the main features that will be included in the launch, including Saving Articles and Hiding Articles.
